Our Story
On July 29th at 3:03 AM, my life changed. I went into labor at only 25 weeks and met my superhero, my only surviving triplet. We call her THREE. She weighed 1 lb. 14oz. Being pregnant with triplets I knew it would be a high risk, but nevertheless we were planning to welcome three baby girls into the world. Sadly that didn’t happen, instead we lost triplet A and triplet B due to twin to twin transfusion. I cried because it was way too soon but I definitely underestimated the strength my surviving daughter had.
Because of her small size, she had to stay at The Holy Cross NICU for 71 days. Leaving her everyday was one of the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. I’d spend my days at her bedside reading her books, staring at her, thanking God for my little miracle, and hoping for the best. Her pampers were not much bigger than my key fob and everyday that she gained weight was a huge milestone for us. It was through this experience I realized that I could help other mothers like me.
Life is short and you never know what tomorrow may bring. After 71 days I was able to take her home. She was 4lbs 7oz but as of today, baby THREE is 6 lbs 10oz. GOD IS GOOD. Becoming a mom was one of the best things that ever happened to me even though my experience wasn’t what I thought it would be. But I’d do it all over again and not change a thing for my miracle in the end.
